Double eyelid surgery is an operation that forms a visible crease in the upper eyelid, or makes an existing crease clearer and more even. It is one of the most common eye procedures in Korea and is also called Asian blepharoplasty.
There are two main techniques. The non-incisional (suture) method forms the fold with fine buried stitches through tiny openings and suits thin eyelids. The incisional method uses a small cut along the planned crease, so excess skin or fat can also be removed; it suits thicker or heavier lids. Your surgeon recommends one after examining your eyelids.
