What is revision rhinoplasty?
Revision rhinoplasty is corrective surgery for people who have already had a nose operation and are unhappy with the result. It can address asymmetry, an uneven or unnatural bridge, a shifted or visible implant, a pinched or drooping tip, scarring and stiffness, or breathing problems that began after the first surgery.
Revision is usually more complex than a first rhinoplasty. The surgeon works with scar tissue and structures that have already been changed, so the nose often needs rebuilding with your own cartilage from the septum, ear or rib. Old silicone or Gore-Tex implants may be removed or replaced.
Most revisions use an open technique under general anaesthesia. Your surgeon will review previous operation details, examine the inside and outside of your nose, and explain what can realistically be improved. Results vary, and some cases may need more than one stage.

How long after my first rhinoplasty can I have a revision?
Most surgeons wait until the nose has fully healed, usually at least 6–12 months after the first surgery. An infected or exposed implant may need earlier treatment. Your surgeon will advise on timing after examining you.
Is revision rhinoplasty harder than the first surgery?
Usually, yes. Scar tissue, changed anatomy and limited cartilage make revision more complex. That is why careful planning, an open technique and cartilage grafts are often used.
Will I need rib cartilage?
Not always. Septal or ear cartilage may be enough for smaller corrections. Rib cartilage is considered when strong support or a large amount of cartilage is needed, for example after several previous surgeries.
Can you remove my old silicone or Gore-Tex implant?
Yes. Implants that have shifted, show through the skin or become infected can be removed and, where appropriate, replaced with a new implant or your own cartilage.
How long should I stay in Seoul?
