What is rhinoplasty?
Rhinoplasty is surgery to reshape the nose. Depending on your goals, it can raise a low bridge, refine a wide or bulbous tip, narrow wide nostrils, smooth a hump or straighten a crooked nose. When there is a breathing problem, such as a deviated septum, functional correction can be done in the same operation.
At our Gangnam clinic the aim is a nose that suits your face, not a copied or overdone shape. Your surgeon looks at your forehead, eyes, cheeks, lips and chin together, then plans the bridge, tip and nostrils as one design. Materials may include a silicone or Gore-Tex implant for the bridge and your own cartilage (septum or ear) for the tip.

Rhinoplasty recovery: what to expect
Typical milestones. Everyone heals differently, and your surgeon will guide you at each follow-up.
- Day 1–3
Rest and swelling
Swelling and some bruising peak. Keep your head raised and use cold compresses for the first 48 hours.
- About day 7
Splint and stitches out
The splint and stitches are usually removed at the clinic. Many patients feel ready for light activity.
- Week 2
Back to daily life
Most visible swelling and bruising has eased. Many patients fly home after a final check.
- Week 3–4
Activity returns
Gentle exercise can usually restart after about 3 weeks. Avoid glasses resting on the nose for about 4 weeks.

How long should I stay in Korea for rhinoplasty?
Most international patients stay about 10–14 days. The splint and stitches are usually removed around day 7, and your surgeon checks healing before you fly home.
Is rhinoplasty painful?
Surgery is done under sedation or general anaesthesia, so you should not feel pain during the operation. Afterwards most patients describe pressure and congestion rather than strong pain, and this is managed with prescribed medicine.
Will my nose look natural?
That is the aim of every plan. Your surgeon designs the bridge, tip and nostrils in proportion to your face and explains realistic goals at consultation. Results vary between individuals.
Can rhinoplasty fix my breathing too?

Will there be visible scars?

What are the risks of rhinoplasty?
